(ENG) Yannika Frank is a vocalist, songwriter and performer based in Hamburg. She received her Bachelor degree in Performing Arts (World Music) from the University of Limerick in 2021. Exploring the possibilities of storytelling, Yannika first moved to Dublin in 2014 to pursue the ‘Advanced Performance Year in acting’ at the Gaiety School of Acting (2014) and later a ‘Bachelor in Theater and Performance’ at the Technological University Dublin (2016-2018).

After completing her studies in Ireland and Sweden, Yannika returned to Hamburg in 2021. There she joined the Elbphilharmonie’s javanese Gamelan ensemble Sêkar Kênanga. Since 2022 she is artistic director for the Welcome Music Sessions, a platform for intercultural & experimental musical exchange in Hamburg.

As a newcomer/upcoming Artist with a background in World- and Folk music, Yannika performs independently as solo artist and collaborator. Her music is inspired by intercultural means of expression, which she encountered throughout her travels and studies. ‘Temporary Dissonance’ (2021) is her most recent work developed in long-distance collaboration with Soprano Viktoria Nikolova.

Yannika has been Youth Artistic Leader for ‘Ethno India Music Camp’ (2020) with a final performance at the Lotus Temple in Delhi. She has performed her solo concert ‘House of Time’ (2019) and the Gallery Opening of ‘SEBA’ (2019) in Brussels. Together with the ‘Ethno’ music camps, she performed at various festivals in Sweden, Wales, England, and in Estonia at the Viljandi Folk Festival (2019). As a performer, Yannika has worked alongside Irish and international Artists for theater shows such as ‘Thunderous & Glowing’ (2018) by Branwen Kavanagh - ‘Who will carry the word?’ (2018), Blacklight Theatre Company - ‘Mother You’ (2015), Tiger Dublin Fringe Festival.
